nutrient-dense meals than you\u2019re used to, and more processed foods that are harder to digest, says Alison Richman, MS, RDN, a product innovation and education manager for HUM. \u201cAlcohol and caffeine can also play a role by interfering with sleep and hydration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-nutrition-lifestyle-hacks-for-energy-on-the-go\"><strong>Nutrition &amp; Lifestyle Hacks for Energy On the Go<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The good news is, you\u2019re not totally defenseless against the energy-draining effects of travel. There are a number of actions you can take to give you a little boost during your trip:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pack energizing snacks:<\/strong> Ideally, you\u2019ll eat plenty of foods that provide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/why-do-we-need-protein\/\">protein<\/a> and slow-burning carbs, says Largeman-Roth. Depending on where in the world you\u2019re headed, it can also be a good idea to pack your own snacks \u2014 ideally ones that are protein- and fiber-rich. Ideally, try to frontload protein and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/benefits-of-soluble-fiber-vs-insoluble-fiber\/\">fiber<\/a> earlier in the day to support energy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/how-digestion-works\/\">digestion<\/a>, and blood sugar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Stay hydrated<\/strong>:&nbsp; \u201cAlways travel with a water bottle, which will help encourage you to keep your hydration in mind,\u201d says Largeman-Roth. \u201cAir travel dehydrates you, so you\u2019ll need to make an extra effort on your first day of travel to stay fully hydrated.
