That said, there are some things you can do in the morning to help ease your discomfort for the rest of the day. Aim to drink at least a cup of water first thing in the morning \u2014 you can even add lemon or cucumber for a little extra anti-inflammatory support, as well.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Incorporate gentle movement<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>Moving your body first thing in the morning is so beneficial for your overall health \u2014 and it also has the power to help ease bloating. \u201cStart moving as early as possible to get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/why-do-we-fart\/\">gas<\/a> moving; light stretches and poses like \u2018wind relief\u2019 can make a big difference,\u201d says <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brittanyb.ca\">Brittany Brown, RD<\/a>, a registered dietitian and yoga teacher in Nova Scotia, Canada.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s more, \u201cexercise promotes gut motility, which means the food in your gut will start to move out if it\u2019s been \u2018stuck\u2019 for a few days,\u201d says Largeman-Roth. \u201cAnd a good sweat sesh will also get rid of excess sodium, so exercise helps fight bloat in a few ways.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Eat more mindfully<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>We get it, sometimes mornings can feel rushed, but taking the time to slow down and mindfully enjoy your food can make all the difference when it comes to managing bloat. \u201cTake a few minutes for relaxation or mindfulness to support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/gut-brain-axis-gut-questions-answered\/\">gut-brain connection<\/a>,\u201d says Pace.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Something that can help? Try belly breathing, suggests Brown, which can \u201chelp relax the digestive tract and chew your food thoroughly to keep the entire process running smoothly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Choose foods wisely<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>What you eat matters, as well.
