Plus, the best probiotics for vaginal health so you can enjoy some fun in the sun without worry.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-change-out-of-your-wet-swimsuit-asap\">Change Out of Your Wet Swimsuit ASAP<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>It may be tempting to hang out in your swimmie, but Dr. Cobb says this is the worst thing you can do for your vaginal health. \u201cChanging into dry clothes from a wet swimsuit is the most important line of defense,\u201d she says. \u201cAny warm and moist environment increases the risk for a yeast infection.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hit-the-bathroom\">Hit the Bathroom<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The second-best thing you can do post pool party? Use the restroom after leaving a pool, hot tub, or water park attraction (like a water slide). \u201cIn addition to vaginal infections, any retrograde flow of water into the urethra can increase the risk of a bladder infection,\u201d Dr. Cobb says. Even if you don\u2019t need to use the bathroom, try to expel any potential water.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-wash-your-vagina\">Wash Your Vagina<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Both chlorine and salt water are drying, which can cause irritation. Wash the area with soap and water to minimize this risk. \u201cBathing after swimming should include the same gentle cleanser that is used for daily vulvar hygiene,\u201d Dr. Cobb says. \u201cIf there\u2019s travel involved after swimming and a shower isn\u2019t immediately available, there are also feminine wipes available, which can help with pH balance and decrease the risk of irritation.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-change-your-tampon-or-menstrual-cup\">Change Your Tampon or Menstrual Cup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"9e9a8e\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #9e9a8e;\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/best-probiotics-for-vaginal-health-.jpg\" alt=\"best probiotics for vaginal health \" class=\"wp-image-43482 not-transparent\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>If it\u2019s that time of the month, you can still enjoy the pool with the right products.
