According to our survey of 10,000 people, only a small percentage of you would. If you describe yourself more along the lines of \u201call over the place,\u201d you\u2019re not alone: 92 percent of people from our survey don\u2019t consider their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/energy-boost-study-7-things-energetic-people-do\/\">energy<\/a> to be clear and focused. But here\u2019s the kicker: Focused people were more than twice as likely to describe themselves as happy.\n\nHere\u2019s what the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/types-of-rest\/\">rest<\/a> of us can learn from them.\n<h2>4 Habits of highly focused people<\/h2>\n<h3>1. They keep a to-do list.<\/h3>\nHave a task you need to accomplish? Write that ish down. Studies have shown that creating a to-do list helps clear your mind because you don\u2019t have to use your brain\u2019s resources to remind you to do those important things. The simple act of writing and organizing your tasks, along with checking them off your list, will help make you more efficient, productive, and focused.\n<h3>2. They take breaks.<\/h3>\nStaring at your computer screen all day does not equate to focusing. Studies show you\u2019re more productive and focused when you take short breaks, since these breaks help reset your mind. Read up on why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/take-a-break\/\">taking breaks<\/a> throughout the day is super important.\n<h3>3. They eat at least three servings of veggies a day.<\/h3>\nEating plenty of colorful veggies can do wonders for your physical health. This tip comes as no surprise, as most of us are aware that veggies are nutritional powerhouses. The interesting part? A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livescience.com\/55407-eating-more-fruits-veggies-linked-with-life-satisfaction.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recent study <\/a>suggests that increasing your veggie intake can also increase your life satisfaction. Other studies suggest that carotenoids\u2014pigments found in veggies like sweet potatoes, spinach, carrots, and kale\u2014play a role in optimism.\n<h3>4. They just can\u2019t even with clutter.<\/h3>\nIt\u2019s time to go <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/marie-kondo\/\">Marie Kondo<\/a> on your life. A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.princeton.edu\/research\/news\/features\/a\/index.xml?id=4785\">study<\/a>&nbsp;by Princeton University Neuroscience Institute found that clutter essentially limits your ability to process information, and doesn\u2019t let you focus wholly on the task you\u2019re trying to complete. Clutter wears down on your productivity and makes you prone to crankiness.
