These nutrients are important for many bodily functions to maintain optimal long-term health.\r\n\r\nIn addition, juices can be lower in sugar compared to smoothies\u2014but this varies widely depending on ingredients. Whether you&#8217;re trying to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/healthy-snacks-weight-loss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">manage your weight<\/a> or simply want <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/30-plants-per-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more produce<\/a> in your everyday eats, smoothies are typically superior because:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>smoothies have fiber that juices lack<\/li>\r\n \t<li>smoothies are more satiating<\/li>\r\n \t<li>the best smoothie recipes pack a healthy balance of protein, carbs, and healthy fats<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nAgain, there are still health benefits of juicing, so I don&#8217;t advise cutting juices out completely. Instead, I recommend drinking them with a balanced meal to promote fullness and more effectively absorb their nutrients.\r\n\r\nHowever, I don&#8217;t recommend drinking juices as a meal replacement to lose weight. After all, you can create a caloric deficit while still eating balanced meals to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/supplement-to-reduce-cravings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">support healthy weight management<\/a>.\r\n<h2>How to Make the Best Smoothies and Juices<\/h2>\r\nHere are some tips to reap the greatest benefits from both types of blends.\r\n<h3>Juicing Tips<\/h3>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Use fresh fruits and vegetables and be sure to wash them thoroughly before juicing.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Add <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/ginger-tea-recipe-and-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fresh ginger<\/a> or turmeric for an anti-inflammatory boost.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Incorporate veggies into your juices, such as kale, Swiss chard, carrots, and beets. While they may not seem as tasty as pure fruit juice, they offer a range of key nutrients that some fruits lack.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Be mindful of sugar content by drinking only small portions at a time.
