Still an immunologist at her core, she\u2019s just as focused on the foods she eats as the plants and pollen around her.\r\n\r\nHere&#8217;s what this immunologist eats in a day.\r\n<h3>Breakfast<\/h3>\r\nDr. Gupta kicks off her day with two sunny-side-up eggs, which she prizes for their high <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/why-do-we-need-protein\/\">protein<\/a> and good fat content. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/low-fodmap-breakfast-recipes\/\">Breakfast<\/a> is the most important meal of the day for her, and she pairs her eggs with a corn tortilla and spinach.\r\n\r\nOccasionally, she\u2019ll add:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>mushrooms<\/li>\r\n \t<li>peppers<\/li>\r\n \t<li>sriracha<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nFrom her POV, this breakfast is well-rounded and lends to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/how-the-immune-system-works\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">healthier immune system<\/a> as a whole.\r\n<h3>Mid-Morning Snack<\/h3>\r\nDr. Gupta takes her mid-morning snack in liquid form. Rather than coffee or tea, she warms a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/oat-milk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cup of oat milk<\/a> and mixes in turmeric and nutmeg.\r\n\r\n\u201cTurmeric has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/turmeric\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lots of anti-inflammatory properties<\/a> and nutmeg is super yummy,\u201d she shares.\r\n\r\nTo give her tonic a bit more flavor, she tops it off with natural maple syrup. \u201cIt\u2019s my personal favorite, as it\u2019s a great sweetener and healthier than white sugar,\u201d she says.\r\n\r\n<img data-dominant-color=\"a2927a\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #a2927a;\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-24488 aligncenter not-transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Couscous-and-Tomatoes-Meal-for-Immunity-The-Wellnest-by-HUM-Nutrition.jpg\" alt=\"Couscous, tomatoes, and fresh veggies to eat for immune support\" width=\"770\" height=\"514\" \/>\r\n<h3>Lunch + Dinner<\/h3>\r\nWhen it comes to her afternoon and evening meals, Dr. Gupta likes to change things up. As such, she often switches between a few of her favorites, eating them at either lunch or dinner.\r\n\r\nWhere some days call for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/chickpea-noodle-soup-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">chickpea pasta<\/a> with marinara sauce, fresh veggies, and nutritional yeast, others require couscous with spices and veggies in a tomato sauce.\r\n\r\nNo matter what she\u2019s eating for lunch or dinner, she aims to create an even balance between veggies and protein, while sprinkling carbs in here and there.\r\n<h2>The Bottom Line<\/h2>\r\nAs intriguing as it is to see what an immunologist eats in a day (or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.humnutrition.com\/blog\/how-doctors-boost-their-immunity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">any health\/wellness figure<\/a>, for that matter), it\u2019s unlikely that their routine will be the perfect fit for you, too.
